In the above code, we declare an integer variable “b” and assign it the value stored at the memory address pointed to by “ptr”.
Pointers in Java
In Java, pointers are not used explicitly. Instead, Java uses references, which are similar to pointers. References are used to point to objects in memory. When you create an object in Java, a reference to the object is returned.
String str = "Hello";
In the above code, we declare a string variable “str” and assign it the value “Hello”. The string object is created in memory, and a reference to the object is assigned to the variable “str”.
We can then pass the reference to other methods, and those methods can access and modify the object.
Pointers in Python
In Python, everything is an object, and variables store references to those objects. When you create a variable in Python, a reference to the object is created.

In the above code, we declare a variable “a” and assign it the value 10. The integer object is created in memory, and a reference to the object is assigned to the variable “a”.
We can then pass the reference to other functions and modify the object.
